A war has been declared between two trendy platforms, YouTube vs TikTok which is better. The discussion on which social media platform is excellent appears endless. It has left Tiktok, and youtube fans divided. YouTube Vs. Indian Tik Toker Aamir Siddiqui started Tik Tok’s trend. It later became the talk of the town when Indian YouTuber Ajey Nagar aka Carry Minati, responded to Aamir’s claims with his savage roast video  Youtube vs Tiktok: The End. For those who don’t know about Carry Minati, he is one most famous YouTube creators. He is recognized for his comedic skits and reactions to several topics on his channel, which boasts more than 16 million subscribers.

His fans are amazingly loyal and always show their love and support to him. His roast video, which he posted a month back, earned more than 70 million views. Yes, you read it correctly! People enjoyed his 13-minute roast video and was trending on every social media platform for many days. A few days later, the video was removed from Youtube. The video was taken down from Youtube for violating its terms of services’. The deletion of that video didn’t go well with many, including his fans, and soon #CarryMinati and #JusticeForCarry became top trends on Twitter. 

As many as 6 million people attacked the app with a 1-star review on the Google Play Store. The ratings of the app are down to 1.3 stars from 4.5 stars.

YouTube

YouTube is the favourite American video-sharing platform. The platform has it all from music to shows to tutorials to product reviews to unboxing videos. As per the Latest report, every day, a YouTube user spends between 30 to 60 minutes on the platform. You can create your channel on this platform and do affiliate marketing. 

YouTube has more than 2 billion users worldwide. Every day youtube users watch one billion hours of videos and generate billions of views on different videos. A total of 60 per cent of businesses and companies use YouTube as a channel to post their latest products’ promotional video content Aside from sharing and watching videos, it is an exceptional place to market, as 80 per cent say that they find new brands or products on YouTube through videos. 

TikTok 

TikTok was created four years ago by ByteDance, a Chinese company founded in 2012 and became widely successful in no time. It is the fastest-growing social media platform for creating and sharing short videos. The majority of its audience is below 30 years old. In 2018, TikTok’s parent company ByteDance purchased Musical.ly. Nowadays It is a new trend for all the youngsters, school and college going students in India.  

It’s effortless to use Tiktok; if you have a smartphone download the app, create your profile get started to make a short video. Upload the video and wait for the engagement (likes and shares). On Tiktok, The video duration is typically around 15 seconds to 1 minute. It faces direct competition from other social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram.

Interestingly, the app is mostly used by Indians even more than the Chinese who designed the app. India’s Ministry of EIT (Electronics and Information Technology) had banned the app as it promotes pornography and other prohibited content; however, the ban was lifted soon.

Which is Better?

In my opinion, Youtube is far better than TikTok because If you are a food blogger, gym trainer or teacher, etc. then you need longer videos to deliver your message, which is only possible on youtube not on TikTok.
